CERECO is the only Creek Research Organization dealing with Research and Development in the field of materials with emphasis on ceramics and refractories. It was founded on 1986, and its capital is shared by the state as well as sixteen of the largest Greek companies involved in the ceramic sector. CERECO’s aim is to contribute to the technological development in the field by providing scientific and technical support to enterprises, which produce or use: · Technical Ceramics · Composite Materials · Traditional Ceramics · Structural Ceramics · Refractories · Cements and Glasses · Industrial Minerals CERECO operates on a contract basis and its major activities are: · Performance of testing and analysis, contribution to quality assurance of raw materials or products as well as to standardization processes · Carrying out research projects aiming towards the solution of specific industrial problems. · Participation in the industrial development of the research results and in market studies · Supply of scientific technical services and feasibility studies · Promotion of innovation and technology transfer CERECO plays a key role in the technology upgrade of the local ceramic industry, while in parallel provides technological services to partners abroad.
